What is Sit & Dance?
Dance sessions are led with everyone seated in a circle
Who is Sit & Dance for?
These sessions are ideal for anyone who would like to keep moving but find it difficult to stand for all or part of an exercise session.
These sessions are suitable for anyone who has limited mobility as you can take part at your own level of ability.
These sessions are especially designed to give you the opportunity to dance in whatever way is right for you physically.
What happens in the sessions?

Each session takes place with everyone seated in a circle and includes:
- a gentle warm up
- dances to exercise the lower and upper body
- some creative improvised movement
- and a cool down
- Those who can may wish to include some dancing from standing with assistance
- As well as moving for the love of it dancing can help us retain and increase our mobility range,
- improve our balance
- and our overall health.
- It is also good fun and great way to get out and meet people.

These sessions are suitable for community groups who may wish to try something different
Sessions are particularly suitable for groups in residential settings and can assist homes to meet the Scottish Governments National Standards for Care Homes (14.7 in particular).
Sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of particular residents or groups.
Looking after your health:
Participants will be requested to complete a quick questionnaire to help us assess your health and safety needs and in some instances will be asked to check with their GP if an exercise programme would be advised. Any information given will be held in the strictest confidence.
